After a leak or flood, most property owners look at the obvious damage first. They check the stained ceiling, the wet carpet, the warped baseboard, or the puddle that collected on the floor. The problem is that mold rarely limits itself to the places you can see. Once water moves into porous materials or enclosed cavities, mold can keep developing in hidden areas long after the visible surface looks dry.
